About the Artist:
George Schwartz was born and raised in NYC. At the age of 19 he joined the U.S. Navy where he traveled the world for the next 20 years. George’s first foray into the realm of jewelry was in 1985 on a small island in the Indian Ocean named Diego Garcia providing the military men and women access to jewelry from around the world. George had dabbled in the jewelry field on and off up until 2005 when he had the idea to create some holiday earrings as a gift for his wife and some friends. The earrings were a hit and people started buying them. After the holidays were over George started experimenting with different materials, wire, crystal and beads to create his own line of simple but beautiful earrings.
Recently, George’s artistic interest expanded to include more functional jewelry. One day he noticed a woman reading a book and she was using a small metal hook with a charm on the end as a bookmark. It was cute and functional, but it could be so much more. George started creating beautiful “Bookhookmarks” which make fantastic gifts and have been sold to people all over the world. A similar story can be told about cell phone jewelry (bling).
All of George’s creations are designed and created with symmetry and love for his art. He truly appreciates the pleasure he gives others and the pride he feels when he sees someone using one of his creations.
